Driving without a license is forbidden and punishable as a crime
in Nigeria. An individual's right to drive is granted by a drivers license, a
legal document issued by the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC). A
Nigeria drivers license may be obtained by anybody who is older than
eighteen (18).
But there are other requirements a person must meet in order to be
granted a Nigeria drivers license besides age. There are prerequisites that
must be met in addition to certain processes. Additionally, getting this
license has a fee and has a possible three- or five-year validity period.
Required

How to Get a
Nigeria Drivers license?
These methods will assist you in getting your Nigeria drivers
license quickly, without hassle, especially if this is your first time
applying;
- Attend training at an accredited driving school.
- Your driving school will then present you to the Vehicle Inspection Officer (VIO) for a driving test.
- Once you pass the driving test, you will be given a certificate of proficiency from the VIO.
- Complete the Drivers licence application form at the Drivers Licencing Centre (DLC) or apply online via https://www.nigeriadriverslicence.org/
- Pay the licence fee online or at the Bank.
- If you applied online, print your acknowledgement slip once the payment is verified.
- Present your application form/slip to the Board of Internal Revenue (BIR) Officer and VIO at the DLC for endorsement.
- Proceed to the FRSC Officer at the DLC for biometric data capture.
- Obtain a temporary Drivers licence valid for 60 days.
- Pick up the original Drivers licence at the BIR Office after 60 days.

It cost for a new Nigeria Drivers License application?
The following are the latest fees for a new Nigeria Drivers
license application;
- Certificate of driving school: 8,000 NGN or more depending on driving school.
- Certificate of VIO test: 1,000 NGN
- Certificate of eye test: 500 NGN
Drivers license payment: According to FRSC Nigeria, it is
12,000NGN for 3 years or 15,000 NGN for 5 years. It was formally 6,350 and
10,450 NGN for 3 and 5 years respectively.

- Click on ‘DL Application’ and select ‘Renew drivers license’ from the drop-down menu.
